SUCCESSFUL POSTPARTUM WITH AYURVEDA

Successful Postpartum (After Childbirth) with Ayurveda..Nurturing the Mother...Happy & Healthy Postpartum With Ayurveda..
Ayurvedic Wisdom For Women After Giving Birth
Pregnancy and postpartum are extraordinary times in women’s lives that benefit from special guidance and attention.
Ayurveda helps in successful postpartum involves complete recovery and rejuvenation of tissues after childbirth, healthy digestion and feeling happy and joyful about motherhood.
Ayurveda, shines light on how to care for new mothers and their new born babies. Ayurveda understands the changes that women undergo during childbirth and what is required for proper recovery and rejuvenation.
According to Ayurveda, one of the most sacred periods in a woman’s life is six weeks or 42 days after giving birth. Ayurveda says this period is more important than the pregnancy itself! This postpartum period is a unique window which calls for special care. Ayurvedic medicine embraces a broader scope of practice using ancient knowledge and skills to rejuvenate new mothers and their babies. Ayurveda is a way of living with the awareness that you are connected with the environment.
The key to postpartum care of the mother is to calm vata (the ether and air elements). The mother is full of the mobile, light, dry, and cold qualities after the loss of energy and blood and fluids, not to mention the loss of a huge space in the abdomen (previously occupied by the baby). Add to that sleep deprivation and fatigue that comes from feeding and nourishing a newborn and you can see how vata pops up in every aspect of this period.
The three main pillars to support the above qualities are diet, herbs, and oil massage for the six weeks or 42 daysafter delivery. By calming vata and nourishing the mother’s body, you enable her mind and being to also heal and take her form as a mother.
Ojas is the word for vitality or life force in Sanskrit, and it is something that you want to nurture during postpartum. A lot of ojas goes into making breastmilk so you want to make sure you have plenty to spare. Some of the best ways to nurture your vitality include putting plenty of ghee in your food, having a cup of warm milk with ghee before bed, and minimizing activities that deplete ojas like watching intense and suspenseful TV/movies or surfing the web.
When you prepare for your postpartum you are setting the foundation for the rest of your life with your baby. You will strengthen your bond with your baby and strengthen your commitment to your lifetime overall health.
In Ayurveda, the six weeks following birth are crucial for both mother and baby. By restoring balance to your physiology and building vitality from within, our postpartum program will help restore the mother in mind, body, and spirit. Some of the benefits from this ancient science include faster recovery from childbirth challenges, easier hormonal balancing and restoration, quick and natural weight loss, higher rate of successful lactation, better breast and uterine health and overall return to health and vitality.
Have a great postpartum!
