HATHAYOGA
Svatmarama in his work does not give the etymological meaning of the word Hatha. But it is given in some other works on Hathayoga. According to them the word Hatha is formed by putting the symbolic letters “Ha” and “Tha” one after the other. “Ha” and “ fha” have different meanings as: “Ha” means the Sun, Day, Prana etc and Tha means the Moon, Night, Apana etc. When the sun and the moon, heat and cold, Pihgala(right nostril) and Ida(left nostril),Pitta(bile) and Kapha(phlegm), Prana and Apana, the Day and the night Siva and the Sakti(Parvati), The Brahman(the ultimate reality) and Jiva(the living human being). Rajas and Tamas etc. come together and become one, then this is said to be the complete type of, Hathayoga. A beginner of Hathayoga should first of all know and practise the cleansing processes( the suddhikriyas). Through the practice of cleansing processes, the nerves(nadls) of the whole body become clean.
Then by the regular practice of the asanas, the whole body of the practitioner becomes flexible. Also through the practice of pratiayama, a person becomes free from diseases and one’s whole body becomes perfectly clean and purified. A beginner and practitioner of the Hathayogic postures or asanas should very well know and practise pranayama in which one inhales and exhales according to the special Hathayogic technique.
When the body of the practitioner becomes totally clean, then one can begin the practice of retention(kumbhaka). After the continuous and prolonged practice of retention(kumbhaka) one should start the practice of Bandhas etc. so that one can try to introduce the pranavayu(internal air) into the susumna and if this technique becomes successful, then the Ida - Pihgala union takes place and thus Ha and Tha come together and their union takes place. This is called Hathayoga. But really speaking this is the beginning of the discipline of Hathayoga.
When the practice of uniting the process of breathing through
ida (left nostril) and Pirigala(right nostril) becomes perfect and it starts increasing, then the internal air transforms itself into the form of a subtle sensation Then that particular type of internal sensation slowly and steadily starts its journey upwards from the root of the susumiia and ultimately it transforms itself into the form of internal sound or sound produced without a blow(Anahatanada) and reaches the uppermost side of the head i.e., Brahmarandhra. This form of Hathayoga can be called complete Hathayoga. It can also be called the union of Siva - Sakti or the union of Brahman and Jiva(the ultimate reality and the living human being) and so on

Detoxification is the removal of toxins and undesirable elements from the body, bringing health and wellbeing to the person. While few know it, detoxification is an integral part of Hatha Yoga, and is clearly outlined in the Vedic scriptures of Hatha Yoga, as “Shodhanam”.
SAMADHI
Centering the mind in the Shakti (Kundalini), and holding the Shakti in the center of the mind, observe the mind with the mind and make the supreme state the object of medita- tion.
The "centering (of) the mind" is a state of Sattva. Here, "Shakti" means consciousness. So we get: keep the consciousness in a state of Sattva. "Observe the mind with the mind" means: Vitarka Samadhi, literally contemplation by reasoning, or watching the thoughts from Sattva. "Make the supreme state the object,” means make Samadhi the object.
