NADI SHODHNA AND YOGA MUDRAS EVERYDAY
Nadi Shodhana : Alternate Nostril Breathing
Nadi is a channel that prana “life force” moves through / Kriya is mindful or conscious movement of energy in a specific direction.
Nadi Shodhanam balances the right and left hemispheres of the brain and is a good preparation for mediation.
Technique:
Inhale through one side of the brain and spine and exhale through the other side, then reverse and keep alternate sides resisting to the follow of energy through the nadis (energy channels) will gradually release. Placing your left ring finger on your right nostril, curling in your pinky toward palm center and your left thumb on your left nostril, placing the index and middle finger just above the brown line, center of forehead.

Start alternate nostril breathing by emptying the lungs on an exhale. Close the right nostril with the right thumb and breathe in through the left nostril for four counts. Hold for two counts. Seal the left nostril with the right ring finger and breathe out through the right nostril for four counts. Hold for two counts. Breathe in through the right nostril for four counts and hold for two counts. Seal the right nostril with the right thumb and breathe out through the left nostril for four counts. Hold for two counts.
Repeat the cycle eight times.
