OJAS

When you consume food everyday, your body is filtering through what you gave it. All in all, our bodies are filtering out the junk from the gems we pour into it, trying desperately to sift out the Ojas from the rest of the pack. Ojas are what your body thrives on!! Ojas are foods, thoughts, and movements that are purely nourishing for the body, and that truly allow it to make itself better and stronger than ever. Officially, if you would like a direct translation to inject into your mind, OJAS means VIGOR in Sanskrit. In Ayurveda, Ojas are what provides your body and mind with longevity, vitality, immunity, and mental/emotional wellbeing. The interesting thing is that OJAS have their home within your heart, so do keep in mind....Even if your eating tons of OJAS building foods, if your heart is blocked, and not excepting visitors, it may not be offering the space for all that nourishment to rest in. That’s why clearing the heart, and opening the heart is just as important as eating all those purely nourishing foods . More chores!! In health and wellness you will see, it’s never enough to do just one thing. And if I might add, Sunday to me seems like the most OJAS day of the week. It’s the time we have to do pure, rejuvenating, and uplifting things. So do something spiritual, make a stew, snuggle under blankets, and think of your day in terms of giving your body all the Ojas it needs for the week ahead.
